If you see someone wearing red today is probably for a very good reason. The purpose of Red Shirt Fridays is to bring awareness and support for our troops by wearing red on Fridays. A local construction company is stepping up to help FoCo Red Shirt Fridays efforts to support our troops.

Cornerstone Construction LLC will be holding a patriotic event in the Denver Avenue Commercial Park today (July 1st) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The Denver Avenue Commercial Park is located on the West side of N. Denver Avenue south of Highway 34/Eisenhower Blvd, between E. 9th Street and E. 1st Street in Loveland.

They will be Serving Free Hotdogs and Hamburgers and accepting collections for FoCo Red Shirt Fridays. Grimm Brothers Brewery will also be providing Beer for those old enough to enjoy their delicious brews.

Julie DeSena with FoCo Red Shirt Fridays will be there accepting item donations as well as cash donations and will have Red Shirts available for purchase so you can wear Red on Friday to show your support to our Troops. Julie's goal is to fill 3 full garages with items that they have requested, and that can be shipped to Troops. All year long Julie works to collect or purchase items to include in care packages for our Troops. She assembles them and ships them off to Troops who are currently serving overseas! It costs approximately $13.00 USD just to ship each care package not to mention the items themselves.

You can help FoCo Red Shirts accomplish their goal of being able to fill those 3 garages and ship the care packages to Troops by July 23rd! There will be materials for you to write a letter to a member of the military who receives each care package as well. So come stop by, buy a Red Shirt, Bring some items for Care Packages, eat a Hamburger or a Hotdog, write a letter and spread the news! US Troops are still fighting, being injured, and serving our country! Please help support them. If you are unable to make the event  check out FoCo Red Shirts’ website.
