I have a passion for the great outdoors, for me there is no better way to recharge and reconnect like hiking.

So obviously, one of the first things I wanted to do after my 22+ hour drive down to Northern Colorado from the Seattle area was to find a mountain to climb. From the research that I've done over the past few weeks and from what I've heard from locals, Horsetooth was a spot I just HAD to hit...so I did.

The drive out there alone was stunning and when I arrived at the trailhead, my main dilemma was to head toward the falls or to the mountain. After being cooped up in a U-Haul for a couple of days, I decided to take the longer route and head to the rock and I'm so glad I did. Along the way I came to realize that this was more than just a hike to a waterfall or the top of a mountain. I was pleasantly surprised at how many outlet trails there were for hiking AND biking and just how vast the Horsetooth area truly is.

Needless to say, I had an amazing time while catching a breathtaking sunset and an incredible first impression of just how beautiful Northern Colorado truly is and how blessed I feel to now be able to call this place home. Can't wait to do more exploring with my wife, son and pup soon.
