Like it, love it, want to ignore it... it's coming!

happy valnetines day

Valentines Day... a day when lovers express their love. Oh, so that's it... if you are in a relationship where you think you guy or gal doesn't express their love often enough, now you know why. According to the great founders of Valentines Day there is really only one day a year where your love need express their feelings. Hold a moment while I laugh out loud!

I think that my James and I go in the opposite direction here... as a matter of fact I think that I want to make it a 'law'...for those in love will reserve the right to express any love to their special person on this day the 14th of February! Perfect, think that it will fly?

James and I will actually 'celebrate' Valentines Day every chance we get. We surprise each other often with a random massage or dinner out, sometimes both-on an unknown Tuesday that has no calendar mention and no Hallmark cards are marketed for it. We enjoy being in love and laugh when people ask what we are doing for Valentines Day. We share everything in our lives, every single day.

Now I know that massages and dinners and plays and the like are not always cheap, but there are plenty of ways to save money. James and I have had a picnic at our dinner table just the two of us, we have sat and starred at the rushing water at our favorite state park. We have even laid in bed on a Sunday and watched all three Blu Ray Discs for The Lord of the Rings. Time together doesn't have to be wrapped up in a heart shaped box filled with yucky chocolates (sorry but mostly those Valentine boxes of mixed chocolate candies are horrible) it can come wrapped in a piece of foil at Qdoba.

We try to make every day count... because every day DOES count! Don't be intimidated by the big scary Valentines Day, um, ahh, 'holiday'! My James and I are having dinner out on the 13th and will sit in our pj's on the 14th, most likely doing our own things around the house-and guess what? I will still know that he loves me and he will know that I do to.

Happy Non-Valentines Day!
