It's usually a scramble for me to figure out what to take to a potluck in the summer (in the middle of the week), it always seems that when you get to the big party everyone has brought a salad and there isn't any real protein (unless there is a bbq with hamburgers). But a lot of the time when you meet at say City Park, you just bring something that is quick and easy, like a salad. Now you can think outside of the box and put your crock pot to work.
