Only a few days after Colorado State University got rid of their athletic director, the school has made a major decision in that very department. Three CSU coaches, including football head football coach Jim McElwain, had new contracts announced today (August 11).
New CSU head football coach Jim McElwain had some unfinished business at the University of Alabama; to win a National Championship! The Crimson Tide beat the LSU Tigers 21-0 last night in the BCS title game. McElwain was the offensive coordinator for Alabama. After the game, the coach tweeted to Rams fans from the field.
Colorado State University has named Jim McElwain as the 20th head coach to lead the Rams' football program. McElwain was signed to a 5-year, $1.3 million contract. The 49 year-old coach most recenly served as the offensive coordinator at Alabama for the last four years. McElwain will remain on Alabama's staff through the national championship game on January 9th.
