The woman was in the glacier area of the park when she slipped and fell down the 80-foot snow covered trail before landing in rocks. RMNP's search and rescue team found her around 3:30 p.m.

She received advanced medical care at the scene for multiple injuries and hypothermia.

Rescue services determined that a helicopter would be the safest way to remove the woman from the area.

A Colorado National Guard helicopter arrived around 8 p.m. and performed a hoist operation, with the assistance of the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group of Boulder County, to get her into the aircraft.
