I didn't even know we had one but today is National Disc Jockey Day. I am very proud of my profession. I love what I do and am honored to get to sit behind this microphone each morning. I know that anyone else who has the pleasure of doing this for a living feels the same way. We are blessed to get to share our lives with you and thank you for letting us into your lives.

The life of a DJ can be a strange one. We work odd hours and do so much more than you would think. What goes on during our show is just a small part of what we all do. Jimmy Fallon doesn't just work the one hour he is on your TV and believe me, we work a lot more that than the few hours we are broadcasting, but it is a labor of love. This is what we love to do. I salute all of my fellow broadcasters who battle the corporate world and try to stay local and do their jobs in spite of all the growing pressure in our industry. It can be an ugly business but is such a joy at the same time. I get to play great music and make you laugh each morning. I am living my dream.

Wolfman Jack was the first real superstar jock that I can remember and he made it ever cooler to be a DJ than ever before. I can thank my radio guru Bob Beck in Bismarck/Mandan, North Dakota for giving me my first break and showing me the way of the radio world. Please thank your favorite DJ's today. They do a lot of work and sacrifice a lot to bring you music, entertainment, news, traffic and all you need to get your day rocking. A big salute today to all my fellow disc jockeys. Proud to be one of you.
