The Northern Colorado Regional Airport will be all abuzz the weekend of October 16, 17, 2021 with the Blue Angels and more for the big air show.

Thousands of people will be coming to Loveland this coming weekend to see the air show, which will include the first visit by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels since 2002.

Saturday's event is sold out, but there are just a few tickets available to attend on Sunday. Both days will include not only aircraft in the air, but on the ground as well, with concessions, souvenirs, and more. This is going to be a huge event, hosted by Discovery Air and The Flying School.

It's crazy to me that it's been almost 20 years since the Blue Angels were in town. I remember being out near the airport on that Saturday; me and my friends got as close as we could and got some fun video. I remember, because I had a big date that night.

The headliners, of course, will be the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the world-famous flight-demonstration squadron. They've announced that in celebration of their 75th year, they'll be bringing the new F-18 Super Hornet. The Super Hornet is 25% bigger than the the Legacy Hornet, which was retired in 2020.

From the Blue Angels:

The mission of the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron is to showcase the teamwork and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps by inspiring a culture of excellence and service to country through flight demonstrations and community outreach.

There will many other military (including the Air Force Academy) and civilian aircraft at the Great Colorado Air Show too. It must be quite a 'feather in the cap' to find out that you'll be a part of a Blue Angels event.

This is going to be a great time, get tickets for Sunday (while they last) HERE.
