MLB fans are on the edges of their seats in anticipation for the start of the season, which is now just a few short weeks away. With lots of moves happening across the board throughout the off-season, 2020 should be an exciting year for fans and teams alike. Those with their eyes on the Rockies didn't see many big roster changes or transactions take place, but the Arenado drama definitely had fans a bit nervous.

It's impossible to predict the future, and with 162 games a lot can happen, however there's always preseason projections that fans can use as an indicator of how their team ranks among the rest. Fortunately, there's people out there who do the hard part for us, combing through and comparing hundreds of different MLB stats to come up with, what they feel, are accurate assumptions of how the season could play out. Here's what some of the sources are saying about the Rockies win totals for 2020:

Las Vegas Casinos

Vegas is all about taking risks and making bets, and with Caesars Palace being the first sportsbook to release 2020 MLB win totals, we'll use their odds that came out in early March as a loose prediction. They say that the Rox are going to win a total of 73 games this season with the Dodgers topping the entire League at 101 wins.

CBS Sports

CBS Sports also posted their preseason rankings, and share the same view that the Dodgers will likely be on top of the NL West. Their rankings have the Rockies coming in just above San Francisco, winning around 73 games. Sadly, CBS believes the Rox have less than 1% chance of winning their division...but as the great Yogi Berra used to say, "It ain't over 'til it's over."

RotoChamp

The fantasy baseball app, RotoChamp, also has the Rockies finishing fourth in the National League West right above the Giants, predicting a record of 75-87 for the season.

Bleacher Report

The Bleacher Report is predicting similar standings to how last year ended for the NL West, with the Dodgers in first *rolls eyes*, and the Rockies winning a total of only 74 games. Furthermore, when breaking down their power rankings, BR has already labeled the Rockies as non-contenders for the playoffs, blaming the fact that they have yet to fully rebuild as a team and the backlash still circulating from the Nolan Arenado drama.

PECOTA

An acronym for Player Empirical Comparison and Optimization Test Algorithm, PECOTA is a baseball projection system, known for forecasting team records for the season to come. They released their predictions in February, and once again, it appears it's the Dodgers' world and we're all living in it. PECOTA projects the Dodgers to win the NL West by 24 games over the would-be second-place. They also say the Rox only have an 8.4% chance of making it to the post-season. Overall, they predict the Rockies finishing with a record of 76-85.

Keep in mind, these are simply predictions and a lot can change during the season. Hopefully, the Rockies are able to slide past the Dodgers and come out on top. In 2019, the Rockies finished with a record of 71-91.
