The Words That Sank the Dixie Chicks Were Said 12 Years Ago Today [VIDEO]

It was 12 years ago today that the Dixie Chicks came crashing down. They were the hottest act in all of music and riding high with million selling albums and sold out tours then came this day in 2003. This is the day that Natalie Maines, at a concert in London, said she was "ashamed the President of the United States was from Texas" and all hell broke loose.

I personally love the Dixie Chicks music and I hate that their career was toasted by that comment. It was not a bright thing to say while in another country during a time of war but I don't think it should have ended a career. We received endless comments and threats after this saying that if we played their music people would boycott us or worse. Today you hear worse things said daily about our president.
