A thrilling new hangout spot, exclusively for horror, sci-fi, and fantasy fans has opened in Fort Collins, and is a one-stop-shop for everything of the like.

Located at 1125 West Drake Road, Unit B-6, The Gorehound's Playground not only features retail items for sale, including posters, clothing, and collectibles, but also has an intimate movie lounge with an 150" screen, designed to seat up to 30 people. To start, they're playing several films a week, with showtimes on Thursdays and Fridays, and a horror double feature every Saturday. Special merchandise is available for sale based on the movie they are showing. Besides showing movies, Gorehound's Playground was created to serve as a socializing and networking destination, where horror and sci-fi movie buffs can connect with one another. Another cool aspect of the shop, is that they feature the work of independent film makers, local musicians and artists for sale in the store, and sell concessions from area vendors, in addition to creating their own signature treats.

There's a wide selection of over 2,000 horror, sci-fi, fantasy, comedy and cult classic films and games available to rent or buy, and even more exciting news for movie lovers – the staff at Gorehound's originally purchased nearly 200 zombie flicks from The Village Vidiot's close-out sale, but then ultimately decided to give the former business a new home at the West Drake location. If you had an account at the Vidiot you will have one at the Gorehound. Other happenings in the works are cosplay contests, and special screenings hosted by independent film makers, combined with Q&A sessions where the audience can ask questions and the artists can talk about their influences and the film making process.
