Our connection to Thomas Rhett goes way back to his father, Rhett Akins, who we brought to the free stage at the Greeley Stampede back in the 90s. Who knows, maybe little Thomas was tagging along back then. Now they are on tour together.

We first knew Thomas as a songwriter. He wrote songs for Jason Aldean before breaking out on his own. I remember interviewing him in 2012, right after he had written and recorded "Beer With Jesus". Since then he has appeared on our 28 Hours of Hope numerous times and has been on the air with us more times than I can count.

Whenever we have asked, Thomas Rhett has been there for us and we sincerely appreciate it. So, I wasn't surprised when he jumped at the chance to send Brian a goodbye message before his final goodbye at the Last Habajeeba Show! You can hear the message in this short YouTube video:
