Starting Black Friday at midnight and running until Sunday night at 7 PM, K99 will be playing your favorite country Christmas favorites all day long! It’s all being brought to you by Murdoch’s Ranch and Home Supply in Greeley, located at 310 8th Street in Greeley! It got me to thinking about my favorite country Christmas songs. It was extremely hard, but I have narrowed it down to my top five.

5. Santa I'm Right Here - Toby Keith

This is definitely one of my favorite Toby Keith songs. It is very say, but it is such a great song. It's about a homeless kid who hopes that Santa will be able to find him because he lives on the street. It breaks my heart and puts me in the Christmas spirit all at the same time.

4. All I Want for Christmas is You - Vince Vance & The Valiants

I love this song, but wasn't sure if it fit into the "Country" genre. I put it in my top five anyway. It's from Vince Vance and the Valiants, featuring lead vocals from Lisa Layne.  We play it on K99 every Christmas season and to me, the Christmas season is not here until we play it. So, it's country to me.

3. Let it Snow - Ricochet

Brian Gary and I love to play this song on K99 every time it snows. There have been a lot of versions of "Let It Snow" over the years, but Ricochet's is the best. It's an incredible acapella doo-wop version of the song and I guess that is what I like about it the most.

2. Mary Did You Know -  Kenny Rogers & Wynonna

Kenny Rogers is my favorite country singer of all time. It only makes sense that he made my top five. His version of "Mary Did You Know", with Wynonna, is magical. It's one of those songs I listen to, even if it isn't around the holidays.

1. Colorado Christmas - Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

"Colorado Christmas" is our most requested song of all time on K99. It's also my favorite country Christmas song. It's one of my favorite songs of all time. I keep it on my iPad year-round. The Dirt Band Got it right. "The closest thing to heaven on this planet anywhere is a quiet Christmas morning in the Colorado snow."
