My wife, Jenny, has decided to go gray. She has chosen to stop dyeing her hair after doing it for at least 15 years. This has been a trend across the country for the past 4 or 5 years. There are many different reasons that women chose to go gray including:

  • Time
  • Money
  • Dangerous chemicals
  • Embracing your age
  • Hair becomes resistant to dye
  • Natural beauty
  • Going gray is Earth friendly
  • It's trendy
  • You have earned your gray
  • It looks more natural for a mature woman
  • Guys have been going gray for years

In this YouTube video, Jenny explains why she decided to stop dyeing her hair and her plan for letting her hair grow out naturally.

This picture shows six weeks of growth since Jenny's last dye job. Due to the length of her hair she figures it will take a couple years to grow it out completely. According to ScienceABC.com, most hair grows at rate of .40 inches per month.  At that rate, it would take about 2 years for Jenny to grow her hair shoulder length.
