I have no sympathy, at all, for ISIL members. I actually find joy in the continued bombings of their strongholds which continued today across Syria and Iraq.

We used to know these terrorists under the name of ISIS. Early this year, U.S. Military leaders renamed the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, ISIL. This is the group responsible for all the recent be-headings we have seen in the news.

ISIL this year alone, have killed 120 of their own members when they decided, after joining, they didn't want to be a part of ISIL anymore and wanted to return home. I assume they got smart and knew they were on the losing end of a no-win situation.

According to the Department of Defense, six fighter aircraft airstrikes took place in Syria that wiped out three ISIL buildings, damaged another and an ISIL tactical unit was also taken out as Operation Inherent Resolve is full steam ahead.

An additional eight airstrikes in Iraq were reported including the following:

  • Near Qaim - Destroyed four ISIL excavators and two ISIL fighting positions
  • Near Mosul - Destroyed two ISIL tactical vehicles and two ISIL checkpoints and struck an ISIL tactical unit.
  • Near Bayji - Destroyed two ISIL buildings.
  • Near Ramadi - Destroyed an ISIL tactical unit.
  • Near Fallujah - Destroyed four ISIL buildings and three ISIL tactical vehicles and struck an ISIL tactical unit and a large ISIL unit.

Wanted to end the year on a good note and let everyone know that Operation Inherent Resolve is still hell bent on keeping our promise. It's important to know the men and women of our U.S. forces, and partner-nation military forces, are not forgotten. Please keep them in your thoughts tonight when you go to sleep in your warm home.
