Few other places in North America offer wildlife-watching opportunities like that of Colorado. Colorado’s majestic residents include bighorn sheep, bald eagles, mountain goats, moose, pronghorns, elk and many more.

In Estes Park we have seen elk time and time again, but this was a first for me.

We found video of a newborn baby elk calf standing for the first time and then takes its first steps.

The momma elk encouraged the newborn as it wobbly attempted to stand for the first time. The newborn  Looking a little unsure the newborn finally got on its feet and then took its first steps. This footage would make even the coldest heart melt.
