Wellington Parade of Lights and so Much More: It’s Time to get your HO-HO on!

The Wellington Parade of Lights has been a special tradition in my family for longer than I can remember. We're talking about a town that is over a hundred years old and bursting with charm and a sense of belonging. Wellington may seem small when you first drive into this little town, but give it a minute, it will open its arms and welcome you.

Today unfolds like a much wanted Christmas present being unwrapped.

HERE'S HOW THE DAY UNFOLDS:

• Now through Noon there is a town of Wellington Food Drive in the Town Hall parking lot, Toys for Tots and Larimer County Santa Cops will also be on hand
• Now till 3pm Eyestone's Annual Holiday Craft Fair. I have found so many great gifts at this very craft show in the past years, it's cozy and warm. And its like everyone knows you, it's that small charm I believe. (4000 Wilson Ave)
• At 5pm the town lights up with magic, its time for the Wellington Christmas Parade of Lights on Cleveland Avenue. Children dance and ride through the streets, the Wellington Fire Department brings light and sound to the parade, area churches, 4-hr's, organizations and community members will push through the arctic cold tonight to bring in the joy of the holidays.
• The days events wrap up with an extraordinary Chili Feed, The Annual Wellington Fire Protection District Chili Feed at the Wellington Community Church. It's all you can eat chili with a silent auction and door prizes. Join these fine individuals anytime from 4p-9p. $4 for Adults, $2.50 for kids and 3 and under are FREE. The chili is awesome, the prizes are great and the silent auction items are unique. And when its all said and done, 50% of the proceeds are donated, this year the money will help a local  family with medical bills.

The party has already started, what are you waiting for? Get to Wellington and celebrate the season of love, kindness and light. (you can usually find a free or cheap cup of hot cocoa and a cookie or two at the parade and then afterwards at the Filling Station)
