Back in 2009 when Twilight was all the rage I came across a book while Christmas shopping called The Hunger Games which I thought my daughter might like.  It had rave reviews from Steven King and I was told that if Taylor was a huge Twilight fan she might like this book.  So, I bought it and I myself became hooked.

As soon as Taylor finished the book she said I should read it because she thought I would like it. Keep in mind my daughter LOVES to read but most of what she reads I never could but I thought was the heck.  I'll give it a try since she seemed so adamant that I would like it.

HOOKED FROM PAGE ONE!  By the time I got done reading the book we were wondering if there would be a sequel since it ended and I needed more!  Well, there was a sequel and then a 3rd book and I was reading them before giving them to Taylor.

The next question was "when is the movie coming out" and sure enough we found out almost a year and a half ago that the "Hunger Games" was being released in 2012 and I promised my daughter we would be first in line for the Midnight showing.  Not sure when the last time I went to a movie and you will NEVER catch me on opening night but  this is one opening night I can't wait for.  I can hardly stand it.

Now it gets even better!

I find out today that Taylor Swift did the official Hunger Games video with a beautiful song that will blow you away.  Check out the vid and then I will explain this trilogy.

The Hunger Games is a young adult novel written by Suzanne Collins.

The Hunger Games are an annual event in which one boy and one girl aged 12 to 18 from each of the 12 districts surrounding the Capitol are selected by lottery to compete in a televised battle in which only one person can survive.

The book received mostly positive reviews from major reviewers and authors, such as Stephen King.

The Hunger Games is the first novel in a trilogy followed by Catching Fire and Mockingjay.
