What’s a Bad Habit You Picked Up in the Pandemic?
There might be a few things you're now trying to correct.
Habits. I've got a love-hate relationships with them. Oh sure, there are good habits that I've been able to establish like getting up at a decent hour and working out. However, there are bad habits that I have like neglecting to take my makeup off before bed if I'm too tired.
This past year definitely created some habits for us that maybe were outside the norm for us. For instance, my workout regimen came from the pandemic when we were all searching for a routine when the world turned upside down. Getting in the garage and moving my body turned out to be good for both my body and my mind.
On the other hand, I also started watching waaaay too much television. I started binge-watching shows I hadn't seen in awhile or ones that have been on my "must watch" list for ages. Yep, I finally watched the Office. It's been hard to break my television habit and I actually found myself getting angsty when I wanted to watch a show, but someone texted me to hang out.
It's been a struggle as I also started breaking my own bedtime to watch more episodes. Yes, I'm an adult and I have a bedtime. What can I say? I like my sleep.
Recently a survey conducted by Zarbee's Naturals found that bedtime has become a struggle for half of parents. It's become a battle each night as 60 percent of parents say that well-oiled routine pretty much went out the window in March of 2020. And it makes sense because school routines went the same way too.
Of those polled, 42 percent say getting in bed at a decent hour wasn't enforced in 2020. Did your bedtime also go out the window? Or maybe getting in and out of bed at a decent hour was the only way for you to stay sane.
