Publicist Kristen Foster has confirmed that Whitney Houston has died but the cause is unknown and still under investigation.

Police have confirmed that she was in fact pronounced dead at the Beverly Hilton Hotel at 6:55PM Eastern Time despite resuscitation efforts after being found by her bodyguard.

There were no signs of criminal intent.

Her album "Whitney" was the first female album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts.

She has sold 200 million albums world wide and holds an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities from Grambling State University in Louisiana.
