It's like Elf on the Shelf, but for adults.

The Windsor Downtown Development Authority (DDA) will hide multiple elves in various local businesses starting on Saturday, November 30.

To join in on the fun, pick up a form from a participating business and begin hunting for the elves.

If you find an elf in at least five businesses before 4 p.m. on December 7, 14, and 21, turn in your completed form to Toast Coffee and Wine Bar for your chance to win a $100 gift certificate to a Windsor store of your choice.

Winners will be drawn at the Tree Lighting Ceremony in Boardwalk Park on December 7, and at Toast Coffee and Wine Bar on December 14 and 21. You do not need to be present to win.

The goal of the elf hunt is to remind the public of just how important local businesses are to the economy.

According to the DDA, every $100 spent at a local retailer gets recirculated back into the economy by almost 50%.

"Our businesses are run by you friends and neighbors here in Windsor," said Dan Stauss, owner of Memory Lane Antiques. "Our goal is to get people exploring the many one-of-a-kind shopping and dining options there are to enjoy in Downtown Windsor."

Anyone who picks up a form on November 30 will get a free DDA bag, so mark your calendars and get ready to explore Downtown Windsor.

Happy hunting.
