Country star Wynonna Judd has been announced as the inaugural headliner for the new Estes Park music festival called Roots on the Ridge.

Judd and her band called "The Big Noise" will close out the May 16 festival hosted at the Estes Park Events Complex.

Wynonna began her career as one half of the duo The Judds with her mother Naomi.

Wynonna went solo in 1992. She's sold more than 30 million albums and won more than 60 industry awards over her career.

Also scheduled to take the stage for Roots on the Ridge are Nashville singer-songwriter Ruston Kelly, Wyoming native Chancey Williams and The Younger Brothers Band, and Denver-based Chain Station.

Other opening acts will be announced later.

Roots on the Ridge will have two stages.

Tickets are currently on sale with general admission and VIP ticket packages available. The event is for all ages and there's discounted tickets for youth attendees.
