There are few flavors in the world that wake my face up like the powerful, refreshing taste of lemon. I love the smell of it, the bright look of it and it's taste is one of my all time favorites. I used to love lemon pudding as a kid and still enjoy lemon chicken, lemon sorbet, lemon meringue pie and most thing lemon except the taste of Pledge. I also love to cook so I had a blast the other day in the kitchen with these bad boys. I made lemon brownies for the first time. They were so awesome. They have the texture of a brownie but are bursting with lemony goodness.Try making a batch today and you will thank me.

Here is what you will need.

Brownie batter

3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 stick unsalted butter softened
2 eggs
2 Tbsp lemon zest
2 Tbsp lemon juice

Lemon glaze

1 cup powdered sugar
4 Tbsp lemon juice
8 tsp lemon zest

Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 8x8 pan

In a bowl, beat the flour, sugar, salt and butter until combined

In another bowl whisk the eggs, lemon zest and lemon juice until combined. Pour in flour mixture and beat at medium speed for a couple minutes until smooth.

Pour into baking dish and bake for 25 minutes then allow to cool completely.

After they have cooled make the glaze and spread 1/2 over the brownies and let sit until glaze sets then cover with the other half of the glaze. Enjoy
