Zero Degrees, Zero Fun At The Gas Pump!
So I got in the car today to come into work... and BEEEEEP! The "You Need Gas, Dummy!" light and signal went off. Great. It's barely above zero, and I have to stop and pump some gas?! But it never fails, just when I think I couldn't be hassled enough.... Has THIS ever happened to YOU?
I had just enough fuel to make into Windsor and to the gas station on the edge of town- I figured I could drive, get the car nice and toasty- so that after I got some gas, I could get back into a warm vehicle. That would turn out being the best part of the whole plan.
I got to the gas station, popped open the gas door, put the gloves on and got out. Of course, I had to take the gloves OFF again to insert the gas card and the debit card. Fine, fine, just hurry!
BUT- as I get it all set: payment; what kind of fuel; "no I don't want a car wash"-- I grab the hose off its hook and turn to put into the car.. when "D'oh!!!"
When I turned from the pump to my car-- the hose nozzle shut the gas door!
I hate that!
To open the gas door again, I have to go around to the driver side door- to do THAT I have to put the hose back on the pump. Doing THAT resets the pump- and I HAVE TO START ALL OVER AGAIN!
"AHHHH!!! It's 1 degree out here!! I have to start AGAIN?!"
After the failed practice run, the second shot at gas went without error. I am a dummy...
Have you ever done that? Tell me it's not just me. You can comment BELOW or-- Dave@K99.com
