All the action this year takes place on the Pacific University campus but officially, Portland State University is the host of this year's championships.

Today and Thursday will be the heptathlon and decathlon and then the full meet will kick off Friday at 10:30 AM (PT).

The UNC Bears have a few hopefuls with goals of bringing home some real hardware as their 2013 season comes to a close.

At the indoor championship, sophomore Trevor Evanson (Golden, Colo.) won the men's high jump and freshman Francisco Au (Greeley) was named to the all-conference team after his third-place finish in the triple jump. Freshman Alisha Allen (Fairbanks, Alaska) also earned all-conference honors for the women after placing second in the triple jump - UNC Track and Field

Trevor Evanson is tied for second in the high jump going into the 'outdoor' championships with a personal best of just over 7' and sophomore Rachel Hinker from Lyons recorded her personal best in the long jump of almost 20' just two weeks ago. Since my daughter is a Freshman on the UNC track team this year (pole vault) I can only dream of someday watching her compete for a championship and I would also be remiss if I didn't wish good luck to UNC's top vaulter Karli Jeldon.

To coaches Amanda Schick, Travis Covey and all the athletes, good luck from all of us here in Northern Colorado.
